The Parish Church of Christ Church, Denton
The Parish Church of Christ Church, Denton is a historic Church of England parish church that has served the local community since the mid-19th century. Completed in 1853 and now Grade II listed, it is a striking example of Gothic Revival architecture and a familiar landmark.
Designed by renowned Victorian architect Sir George Gilbert Scott, the church is built from local Kerridge and Yorkshire stone. Victorian features such as the carved stone font and pulpit add to the sense of heritage and craftsmanship. After a major restoration around 2000, the church reopened in 2004, carefully preserved for future generations.

Christ Church Denton is especially valued as a funeral venue. The interior is spacious yet intimate, originally seating over 700 people, allowing family and friends to gather together comfortably. The calm acoustics suit spoken tributes and music, supported by the church’s pipe organ. The atmosphere is peaceful, dignified, and reassuring, offering comfort at a difficult time.
